Well I am really wondering. We have first presidential elections in history of the Czech Republic. Every nation should have a politics it deserves.
So what is on the menu? Lots of obscure persons... The most funny is the guy who is well educated and tatooed all over his body.
As I know the Czech humour, I think he has quite a chance! Because everyone here would say to themselves: "Jesus, that would be fucking funny if we had a Fantomas/Avatar/Smurf on a Prague Castle. Imagine him on official travels!"
Haha, so I guess during January it will be decided...

windows 8 upgrade huge pain in the ass
OK I bought and upgrade of Windows 8 Pro (form Win 7).
It all went well, installed and after restart (hour of my time) it said: "Sorry could not install, fuck off".
Ok, so I tried another time, again nothing. So what the hell lets try clean install. Backed up everything, formated the disk, installed like the charm.
"Please activate the copy" - it said. OK, i inserted AGAIN the valid key. "Sorry, you have the key just for the upgrade and I know you made a clean install, so fuck off and thanks for your 30 euros."
WHAAAT?
So again I installed (clean) Windows 7, then I did not bother with activating with my original key. Upgraded straight away and in worked like a charm.
This process overall was so big pain in the ass that I spent half a day with it...
Why I could not simply:
a) installed it without any fails for the first time - obvisously huge error by Microsoft and I am not the only one who has problems with upgrade.
b) If I suceeded with the clean install - it should have asked - "Ok so you made the clean install of Win8 but we trust you have a valid Windows 7 so please look on your computer and write us your key of WIn7 first. We make it valid and NOW insert your bought key for Windows 8"
And this company is worried of losing customers that they go for apple or google solutions?

Social media... my ass
OK, so when it was "in" to be on social media I used to be on facebook, last.fm, twitter, linkedin and even on some other waste-of-time places.
Couple of months ago I deleted myself (I went straight for the option to be deleted, it was bit tricky, but I found it) from facebook and I dont regret or miss it any since. Then it was with twitter.
Now I am only at linkedin (where I from time to time click on the button to accept the connection) - what is THEIR business model? :o) We have 100 million (or more) users who twice a month go online to accept their new connections? :oD But at least thier IPO was not such a disaster as facebook was. Eventhough I guess it was still bit out of a mind.
And last.fm - I only use it so it shows me what the heck is my winamp playing now. Visit of the page is like once a month.
And then there are zillions of smartasses who talk shitloads of crap about how "social media engage your target group without any mediators so you can communicate directly with them" - jesus! When I remember being on facebook I clicked on "hide" on most of the "pages" where the "communicators communicate directly".
I guess we will see if it social media crap will last for another two decades or not. I think it will, but its importance (and crazy IPO as facebook) will be just for someone to make fun of it.
P.S. Dear smart-asses, please, tell me that Blogger is a social media, too!

The totalitarian ideology of global warming
I always wondered whether the global warming is just a bogus or a real deal.
Anyway I met a one great guy who makes a living by studying iceglaciers around the globe and he told me that anytime he wants to get a money from a scientific grant he needs to put "global warming" in the title of the project otherwise no one gives him any money.
He also told me, that:
a) there is still no proven scientific link between the so called global warming and human activities emmiting carbon dioxide
b) al gore is showing pictures of icebergs rapidly shrinking but he is showing only one side of it, because on the other side the iceberg is actually growing.
c) it is true that somewhere the icebergs are shrinking. But there are also regions around the globe where they are actually growing.
d) global warming is one of the biggest business ventures in past decades even if it is total shit and lot of the scientist take it "for granted" only because they are paid for it and can build up a career on it.
e) lots of the scientists are changing the results deliberately just to prove that the idea of global warming is right
How can we live in such a totalitarian ideology?

My boss
Ok, I do not know why, but most people on this planet hate their bosses. On the contrary my boss is really great. Sometimes he is bit rough, but he knows what he is doing and I respect him. And that is important - at least for me, because I always have problems with "authorities" I cannot respect.
Anyway last week we went to a holidays together with several other collegues and he really had lots of sentences that became "cult". Like:
Every year your value on the relationship market is drastically dropping down.
"Nepičuj, stará!" - it loses its beauty with the translation.
and many more.

The definition of oldschool
Your mother is so oldschool, that she is still washing her clothes down in the river!

Junkies in the city
OK so yesterday I went downtown with my wife in a car to get a fresh seafood from a specialized shop and now there was this guy crossing street in front of our car so I slowed down (obviously), but then he stopped. I realized he is barely standing straight and goes right towards our car (my first reaction was - shit, what is he gonna do, if he is high, he can walk over our car, start beating the car with the huge whateveritwas in his hands). But fortunately he was so out of his mind, that right after I stopped totally he went to the side of the car and was searching for the doorknob (hopefully we travel with our doors locked) and right at the time he started to opening the doors I did what my wife hates usually - set off with burning rubber, that is you release the clutch with high RPM and move really quickly... beats me, this time she didnt say a thing :o)).

Internal Communication
I have to say that I work in a company which has the most elaborated system of internal communication I have ever seen... lots of things which make your life easier on one hand and feeling like your are "playing for the right team" on other hand.
On the contrary it has also some strict rules, like not allowing to install anything that is not approven by IT... therefore I see my last.fm proggy and Winamp on my PC like a huge win and good internal communication skills :oD.
And also I could swap Irfan for paint.NET which has much more functions and layers support, though both are great and freeware, but If look on the bright side, I guess that last.fm has lower traffic resources than listening music on youtube and with paint.NET my work productivity is now even bigger, because I can make much better changes to the photographs...

Quote of the month
"I am now in the phase of my life, that I will not get used to have servants."
Moral of this story? Have servants from early youth, they will not be weird for you, when you get older. :o)
