OK, so when it was "in" to be on social media I used to be on facebook, last.fm, twitter, linkedin and even on some other waste-of-time places.
Couple of months ago I deleted myself (I went straight for the option to be deleted, it was bit tricky, but I found it) from facebook and I dont regret or miss it any since. Then it was with twitter.
Now I am only at linkedin (where I from time to time click on the button to accept the connection) - what is THEIR business model? :o) We have 100 million (or more) users who twice a month go online to accept their new connections? :oD But at least thier IPO was not such a disaster as facebook was. Eventhough I guess it was still bit out of a mind.
And last.fm - I only use it so it shows me what the heck is my winamp playing now. Visit of the page is like once a month.
And then there are zillions of smartasses who talk shitloads of crap about how "social media engage your target group without any mediators so you can communicate directly with them" - jesus! When I remember being on facebook I clicked on "hide" on most of the "pages" where the "communicators communicate directly".
I guess we will see if it social media crap will last for another two decades or not. I think it will, but its importance (and crazy IPO as facebook) will be just for someone to make fun of it.
P.S. Dear smart-asses, please, tell me that Blogger is a social media, too!
