Cosmology. Creation stories

The current scientific explanation of Big Bang or even multiverse is such crazy that I could imagine sci-fi book where dark matter is part of Space unvisible to us (same as birds see ultraviolet but we don't) but inhabited by beings who are purposefully hiding from us. We see the effects on gravitation but nothing else. That would nicely explain why we havent ever met different inteligent beings. Because they are hiding :-D.
