Holland... the difference (my personal Czech experience)

UPDATE: OK, even if I felt I was destroying some myths in here... I have been told I am shallow, subjective and stereotypical, hmmmz, so I will change something (a bit).

1) they eat warm for dinner and cold for lunch (we do the opposite)
2) if you are non-European student you pay 7000 euros a year university fees, if you are from Europe you pay 2000 euros (we have free education on state Universities)
3) if you are student from Europe you have to work at least 30 hours per month (to get the state support for students - in Czech republic you just get support from state if your family is on social support, but there is no thing like you have to work and the money you get is a lot of less in Czech Republic)
4) the number of coffeshops is much more different than is the image of holland - in the sense that there are not so many, as you would think from all the "stories", but actually the number is a lot lower (and I guess that Czech society is doing much more weed than Dutch, even if we dont have legalization)
5) the prostitutes behind the glass in Amsterdam Red District are two types - thin blond white girl and fat dark hair gypsy (jeah, here I am subjective ;o)
6) trains look cleaner but they also are late (sometimes even 30 minutes, which on the other hand is a standard in Czech Republic - for the trains to be late, plus apart from IC Pendolino, trains are really filthy in CR)
7) students are doing the bike thing (and also old people! I have never seen old people on bike in Prague... mostly everyone on bike in Prague is possibly suicidal)
8) compared to Finland alcohol is cheaper, but everything else is the same - which means fucking expensive :o)
9) the cheapest shit in coffeshops is for the same price as shit in Prague but is many times stronger... lets better not try the strongest shit for double price :o)
10) Havent seen a tulip or windmill or people in wooden shoes :o)
11) television has more channels (around 30) but it is the same shit (we have only 6 - without cable or satellite, but it is boring on the same level)
12) there are so many black and muslim people that you are suprised (we have only Vietnamese, Ukrainans and Gypsies and in much lesser quantity)
13) they have also old black people in there and lot of interracial couples (something unimaginable in Prague, you see in Prague only young black guys around midnight who are telling tourists to enter cabarets = striptease bars)
14) they are not dubbing shows on TV and use a subtitles a lot of more (which is great for practising English or other languages, in Czech Republic 95 % is dubbed)
15) the dutch national channel 1 has a same logo as we use for a "cunt" sign
16) hoegaarden is pronounced as "hucharden" (to jejich ráčkovací "r") and it is a belgian beer, not dutch ;o)
17) if you go to a good but still cheap restaurant you pay 20 euros for a meal, fuck, in Prague really good (but still cheap) restaurants have meals for around 10 euros maximum
18) my favourite one - it is allowed to smoke weed in coffeshops but since the smoking (of cigarettes) was banned you are not allowed to mix your weed with a tobbacco and smoke it in coffeshops because it is forbidden to smoke cigarettes in a restaurants, pubs and coffeeshops. that just does not make any sense at all :o).
19) the myth like you ask a policemen to light up your joint is not true as well - you are not allowed to smoke weed in many places (like parks and stuff), but everyone does it, but...
20) if you like girls with curly hair, go to Holland! Never seen so many girls with curly hair as in Holland. Maybe they have special Dutch curly hair genes...
21) if you are from Holland and you are still being offended even after the changes I did in this article, go fuck yourself, please (joke)

Prague Autumn has finished

Keeeiii, so yesterday I went to the last concert of this years Prague Autumn classical music festival. Antonio Meneses played the Dvořák Cello concerto and funny thing (and the reason why I am actually writing this shit) is that today I met Antonio Meneses in Celetná street where he was sitting in the patio of the restaurant (in the street) and having a drink. (Beer maybe? Thats what Czech Republic is famous for, lol).

Anyway to sum up this festival. Arcadij Volodos was the best from all of the concerts. His interpretation of Rachmaninov's 3rd Piano concerto was breath taking. The pianissimo parts were so gentle that it was stunning. Anyway Nelson Frerie played the Brahms's piano concerto and here I have to say that lots of time he missed the spot and played falsely, but maybe he was just nervous, because (and that is really unaccaptable) they gave him SQUEAKY chair!!! And everytime he moved in the silent parts it was squeaking terribly. What a shame. What a shame.

Hollywood studios against RealNetworks

I have to laugh to those assholes. They want to ban a stupid fucking DVD-copy software which is sold for 30 dollars and is called RealDVD...

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS, YOU STUPID FUCKS!!! DvdShrink 3.2.0.15 is MUCH BETTER SOLUTION!! IT IS FREE, YOU HAVE NO LIMITATIONS FOR COPYING DVDS AND you have many great options in this software!! So why the hell bother with fucking software worth 30 dollars (on the user side) when you have much better solution for copying DVD discs, and thats dvdshrink. heh.
