Music evolution...

Today I was listening to LOTS of Chemical Brothers and they can be perfectly used as an example of change of paradigm in musical evolution ;o). BLAH BLAH BLAH... but actually, really. I am serious. Because with every their new album I am like "What the fuck is that, it is terrible." But then more you listen to it, the more you start to like it... And that is my every-new-album experience since I bought Surrender in 1999...

Then I was thinking if I can find any other artist about whom I had feeled in the same way and the only one I could think of was Björk. Same feeling. When she released Vespertine I was like OMG what is this?? And then I really liked it... same with her newest album... first song on it... Earth-intruders? What? But now I like it...

I recall one of my revelations (when you are so full of dope and alcohol that you feel that you can bear and find the whole truth of universe) and I was listening to new album by trance DJ Paul van Dyk and I was like: "Fuck, this man has stopped in year 1996 and this is the worst shit I have ever heard..." Since then I really do not like him, because it is the same shit everytime...

Comparison between Malcolm X's education and mine ;o)

On the page 282 Malcolm X says:

"Gentlemen, I finished the eight grade in Mason, Michigan. My high school was the black ghetto of Roxbury, Massachusetts. My college was in the streets of Harlem, and my master's was taken in prison. Mr. Muhammad has taught me that I never need fear any man's intellect who tries to defend or to justify the white man's criminal record against the non-white man - especially the white man and the black man here in North America."

Well I if I had to speak about MY education, I would say: "I made it up to the University, but my high school was the place where I read hundreds of books under the desk during classess, my college was reading books on school toilets during my proper classes and my master's was taken by the philosophy of not reading the books I have to read but by reading the books I want to read instead. Always when there is an exam I read something else because I do not like to read books someone forces me to read. But after I do the exam for American A, Finnish 5 or Czech 1 = exellent ;o) then I read those books, but only because it is my own decision. Plus it gives me one of the most important lessons - even in the most difficult exams I always read something else, for example a novel... it keeps you relaxed and you are not stressed or fear anything... And the funny thing is that I was told by one teacher during exam (the only time in my life I got Czech 3 = the worst passing mark at Czech Universiites) so he told me that I seem to him as a person who has not read one single book in his life. Later on I was laughing at this, because he could not be more wrong... but it is said that you can learn how to be educated man but you cannot learn how to be wise man. (Or another translation would be "You can learn science, but not wisdom". Maybe that is why I do not like to learn science ;o))).

Symphony of Sorrowful Songs Lyrics - Henryk Górecki

Symphony No.3 - III Symfonia zwana też Symfonią pieśni żałosnych

I
Synku miły i wybrany,
Rozdziel z matką swoje rany,
A wszakom cię, synku miły, w swem sercu nosiła,
A takież tobie wiernie służyła.
Przemów k matce, bych się ucieszyła,
Bo już jidziesz ode mnie, moja nadziejo miła.

Ty zawsze wspieraj mnie.

III
Kajze mi sie podziol
moj synocek mily?
Pewnie go w powstaniu
zle wrogi zabily.

Wy niedobrzy ludzie,
dlo Boga swietego
cemuscie zabili
synocka mojego?

Zodnej jo podpory
juz nie byda miala,
chocbych moje stare
ocy wyplakala.

Chocby z mych lez gorkich
drugo Odra byla,
jesce by synocka
mi nie ozywila.

Lezy on tam w grobie,
a jo nie wiem kandy
choc sie opytuja
miedzy ludzmi wsandy.

Moze nieborocek
lezy kay w dolecku,
a moglby se lygac
na swoim przypiecku.

Ej, cwierkejcie mu tam,
wy ptosecki boze,
kiedy mamulicka
znalezc go nie moze.

A ty, boze kwiecie,
kwitnijze w okolo,
niech sie synockowi
choc lezy wesolo

fragment Pieśni ludowej z opolskiego.

I meet only with people...

I meet only with people who are equal to me or with nobody, and because there is no one who is equal to me, I meet with nobody.

Malcolm X

Nelson Mandela in the Malcolm X movie:

"As brother Malcolm said – we declare our right on this earth to be a man... to be a human being... to be given the rights of a human being. To be respected as a human being... in this society... on this earth... in this day, which we intend to bring into existence… by any means necessary."
